Our Team:
Seems like people are interested in a lot more frisbee this year, so for the first time ever, we are headed to “Slog in the Bog”. Thanks to Jon for getting us organized and thanks to all of you who have proven your hardcore-ness by signing up to play!
The co-ed traveling season doesn’t officially begin until April, so we are going under the surrogate name, “Hot Dogs and Tacos” (per Jon’s request). However, we are wearing our Orange O jersey’s. Jon is gathering jersey’s to borrow for those of you who do not have one. If you are interested in purchasing one, however, just contact Jon (jwptumwater@yahoo.com). Also, please bring a white shirt.
If you can no longer attend (which hopefully is not the case), please let me know ASAP, so we can get a replacement. Our male spots are full and we have 1 female spot left, so everyone be on alert for a kick-ass lady!! Our roster is:
Men
1 Santana
2 Jon
3 Gordon
4 Paul
5 Phil
6 Todd
7 Liam
8 Will
Women
1 Beth
2 Lisa
3 Kathy
4 Andrea
5 Becca
6 OPEN
Leadership and Goals: Santana has agreed to be our game day captain, so be prepared to do what he says, which will be to have fun!
Our primary intent is to play hard, play competitively, and play well together. We will be playing some tough teams at Slog, but I have no doubt that we can hang with these teams so long as we work together. There are a lot of people on this roster who haven’t previously played with the traveling team though, so our secondary mission is to gain tournament experience together and develop a new team chemistry since our makeup has changed.
Practice: We will have a “review” practice on Tuesday, March 4th, at Evergreen. Have your cleats on and be ready to play with at 6pm sharp because we won’t have a lot of daylight. At this practice, we will review basic offensive and defensive team strategies since. If you can’t make it, no worries, but please try.
Tournament Cost: The cost is approximately $14.50 per person (but will depend on our final numbers). Also, please bear in mind the cost of food and gas.
Important Times and Such: First round starts at 9am on Saturday. Be on the field with cleats on and ready for warm-ups at 8:30am. Everyone is responsible for arranging your own carpooling. Please bear in mind that it takes about 3 hours to get to Burlington with traffic and 2.25 hours with no traffic.
Lisa, Andrea, and I have decided to stay in a hotel on Friday night because I can’t bear the thought of getting up that early and driving. As soon as I know the name of the hotel, I will let you know so you can reserve a room too you’re interested.

Slog In The Bog
Have any plans for March 8? No? Well now you do. The Olympia team
is planning on heading to Burlington for this epic one day
tournament. WOO HOO!!!
As some of you may recall, Burlington is the location of "Spawnfest"
-- where the Olympia, I mean Tacoma team nearly burned down Skagit
Valley with their massive bonfire. So, dust off your cleats and bust
out that kick-ass orange jersey, and let's get this ultimate season
started.
Mike, get your megaphone.
Jeremy, get that Mohawk styled up.
Clint, are you still alive?
Party Pam, bring Toby and his monkey suit.
Todd, don't forget your stylish socks.
Will, get ready for some gratuitous layouts.
Rich, I'll bring beer.
Andrea and Amy, we'll promise to warn you if there are any discs in
the vicinity of your face.
Paul, bring Curtis.
Andrew, bring Wynne (no, seriously, bring Wynne).
Ian and Sherrie, bring the kids.
Kathy, don't bring Bill and his stupid hand.
Beth and Corey, bring each other.
Shannon, bring Greg.
I'll bring Bill's mom.
And to anyone else who has played on the team in the past, or just
been out to pickup in the last couple of months, If you're
interested in a short road trip with an awesome bunch of folks and a
great day of playing ultimate, send Beth or me an e-mail to let us
know that you are ready.
